School uniform

The School Governors’ policy with regard to school uniform is as follows: –

Girls

  • Light blue blouse (blue polo shirt for EYFS children)
  • Astbury tie
  • Astbury sweatshirt/cardigan
  • Fleece
  • Grey skirt or tailored trousers or Grey pinafore dress
  • Flat Black shoes
  • Socks/tights (white/grey)

In summer, girls can wear a NAVY blue/white gingham summer dress.

Boys

  • Light blue shirt (blue polo shirt for EYFS children)
  • Astbury tie
  • Astbury sweatshirt
  • Fleece
  • Grey trousers
  • Flat Black shoes
  • Socks (grey/black)

In summer, boys can wear mid-grey shorts.

Astbury sweatshirts, cardigans, fleeces, coats, reading bags, pump bags, ties, PE polo shirts, hoodies and tracksuit bottoms can be bought from the school office.

All items of uniform must be clearly named.

PE Kits

The Astbury St. Mary’s PE Kit consists of white polo shirt, navy shorts, white socks and black pumps. Your child’s PE kit should be kept in a named bag. A school hoody and tracksuit bottoms can also be purchased to wear outside in cold weather.

Jewellery, hair and body embellishments

Jewellery is not suitable for wearing in school. Children are allowed to wear a watch but we recommend an inexpensive one. Children with pierced ears may only wear studs. Earrings are not safe in school. All other jewellery must be removed on safety grounds, especially during PE and swimming lessons. Hair that is long enough to be tied back must be tied back with navy bobbles. Tattoos and nail varnish must not be worn.
